Will my Maltese need another shot? Yes, your Maltese puppy will need a booster shot at 10 weeks of age and another one between 14 to 16 weeks of age. I recommend giving the 5 way shot rather than the 7 way shot because there is less potential for adverse reactions to the 5 way vaccine (***ProGuard***). Your puppy will need a Rabies shot at 4-6 months of age. White toy dogs have been known to have adverse reactions to Rabies shots. You may notice a bald spot located where the Rabies shot was administered (usually the right thigh). Certain name brands of vaccines are a lot less likely to cause reactions than others. We use ProGuard because of its excellent safety profile and its effectiveness. |
